The Million-Word Assignment
A Homework Assignment for Parents in the King House
Dear
Parents,
You may be thinking, “What? I thought homework was just for kids!” Soon, your child will be working hard on
homework assignments, but fair is fair, and so to share in the back-to-school
spirit, the house leaders have put together a little assignment for you.
As we begin the school year, each of us is committed to forming a
positive relationship with your son or daughter. One of our first tasks is to get to know your
child and how he or she learns best.
We would like to give you an
opportunity to share any information about your daughter or son, which may be
helpful to us as we work with your child.
Please write us a letter, which tells us what you think we should know
about your child (it doesn’t really have to be a million words!).
Don’t worry, this assignment is not
graded; your child will not be penalized in any way if you do not send in this
writing assignment. However, we hope you
will choose to complete this for us.
Please email the letter as an attachment to your child’s house leader. You may also write or type it up and seal your letter in an envelope
and send into school as soon as you can. We hope to have the letters as
soon as possible, but welcome them whenever you are able to get them to
us. Below are listed the email addresses of the 8th grade house leaders.
Thanks for your help and we look
forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Rob Reddington Rich Battaglia Kevin Farley
