Pucino Family Visit with 8th Grade - Friday June 12th

Our last special visitors for the 8th grade class this year will be the family of fallen soldier Staff Sergeant Matthew Pucino. The Pucino family has visited with the 8th grade the past few years as part of our work from our DC trip on teaching students the importance of showing respect to fallen soldiers and their families. We will be having a short ceremony/visit with the Pucino family from 11:52 until 12:48 this coming Friday. The first portion will be in the theater and the second portion will be out at the front of the school where last year's class planted a memorial tree in honor of Matthew.

Parents are welcome to attend. I would like to thank the Wayland Middle School PTO for helping support and fund this day as they graciously provided the funds for the gifts that will be presented to the Pucino family on behalf of the class of 2019.

The program is as follows:

Theater:

1. Opening Words (Hannah Rice)

2. Arlington Cemetery Slideshow (Abby Mitty and Emma DiIanni)

3. 8th Graders reading of poetry about our experience at Arlington

4. Presentation of funds raised at DC Night for the Matthew Pucino Foundation (Gabby Fargnoli, Kate Maietta, and Kate Balicki)

5. Words from Mr. Pucino (Matthew's father)

6. Words from Melissa and Lisa Pucino (Matthew's sisters)

Memorial tree:

1. Presentation of wooden flag and sign on behalf of 8th grade and hanging of memorial tags on the tree which were made by 8th graders in TAG this past week (Gage Fuller, Jack Flagg, Ben Johnson, Jake Levine, Devin Wong)
