Soundtrack for a Revolution
For 8th Grade Parents & their Families

8th grade families are invited to join their children for a showing of "Soundtrack for a Revolution." This PBS documentary is "the story of the American civil rights movement...told through its powerful music -- the freedom songs that protesters sang on picket lines, in mass meetings, in police wagons, and in jail cells as they fought for justice and equality." It features documentary footage and performances from singers like John Legend and the Roots. The screening will take place in the Middle School auditorium.

Students who are unable to attend on Thursday night may view the film next week, after school, on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Please email your child's social studies teacher with any questions.
